The Association's goals are to provide a professional association that represents the interests and needs of practitioners of biological safety, and to provide a forum for the continued and timely exchange of biosafety information.

American Society for Microbiology

The American Society for Microbiology is the oldest and largest single life science membership organization in the world. Membership has grown from 59 scientists in 1899 to more than 39,000 members today, with more than one third located outside the United States. The members represent 26 disciplines of microbiological specialization plus a division for microbiology educators.

Association of Public Health Laboratories

The Association of Public Health Laboratories (APHL) is a nonprofit, nongovernmental organization with more than 800 members representing US state and local public health, agricultural and environmental labs, US federal agencies, health partners and interested individuals.
